The motivation behind Pamella’s Sunrise is Woman Constable Pamella Johnston who on December 7, 1987 became the first policewoman to be killed by gunmen while in the line of duty.
Her brutal rape and murder left a void in her family’s life that remains unfulfilled. Her youngest sister, in pursuit of healing, discovered tools which can help other families heal from their pain.
The mission of Pamella’s Sunrise is to bring hope, healing, mentoring, advocacy, provide a safe retreat and the Word of God to families affected by gun crimes. While we recognize the unmendable holes and breaches left in families due to these tragedies, we aim to build bridges to help trauma survivors go from pain to purpose.
